Motivation - the driving force

A Struggling Past ........

Growing up, I was confronted by the burdens harvested by financial difficulties. I grew up in a small family. My parents came from a background of minimal education. This limitation made it impossible for them to guide me in my own academic life. School was always important to me. It was something that I was good at. However, this was not enough for me to attend professional courses that I liked. I turned to nursing which was a way for me to get a job quickly and earn money for my family. I had to grow up before my time in order to help my family. After getting my first job, I began to help those that were in the same situation I was.

A Promising Future.....

Even though it wasn’t what I wanted to do, I put everything I had into my nursing profession. The more involved I became with nursing, the more I began to enjoy it. With encouragement from my teachers, I studied hard and achieved high standards of excellence in nursing. I learned how important it was to be ambitious and set high goals. In the back of my mind, however, I always remembered where I came from and how I got to where I was.

The Beginning of A Dream .....

After coming to America, I ended up forming strong friendships with seven individuals who had a desire to helpothers in need. We had a hunger to help others. We did not want anyone to have to sacrifice their educational dreams because they lacked the financial means to do so. After meeting together, slowly the dream began to evolve into a reality. Then our project “The Rays of Hope" formed in September 2008.
Hope, Encouragement, Confidence, Knowledge, Integrity, Self Esteem and Development are the seven RAYS we are delivering . We would not be reach out to every child ,but we knew every little bit can make a big difference.Like Mother Teresa once said,"We ourselves feel that what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean but the ocean would be less because of that missing drop.”
